whoa, that’s a pretty major league thing to say!

Jerry, have you ever loved then lost? If not then you have no idea what it’s like soon after you’ve lost. If you have experienced this then I’d venture to guess that you were the one who broke off the relationship, either that or you just didn’t give it 100%.

wow, Brian, that’s assuming a lot about somebody you don’t even know. Truth is, I’ve been divorced, and no, it was not my idea. I’ve loved and lost plenty – and gone on to love again (married now, loving it – even in the tough times). I’ve broken some hearts and had mine broken even more. And through it all, I’ve never regretted the love part. I’ve regretted some of the circumstances and things that happened, but not the love.

okay, so Brian is my brother and was probably trying to protect me by saying what he said. I wrote the blog because love hurts so much when you lose it. I am such a loving person and hate that I can’t find the one man who will love me the way I need to be loved. I found you, Jerry, as a friend on StumbleUpon and you have been very genuine and friendly. I don’t want this to go on as a disagreement, it was just my initial feeling when I realized I lost my loved one. I appreciate both of your concerns, and the fact that you care enough to read my blog. That makes me happy. :)

    “lost your loved one?”

Oh, Marci – I’m so sorry. I did not know the extent of the situation.

If you want to chat, vent, whatever outside the blog, you can of course e-mail me. I’m always willing to listen.

Oh, and Brian – good brothering :-) I’d expect no less protection from my son for his sister.

I stand by my original post, and while Marci is my sister, I don’t feel like I wrote those things just to defend her. Losing a relationship in which you gave it your all, really hurts and the memories and pain that go with it do not make the experience worth it, in my opinion. I feel that it’s much better to only ever love one person in your entire life and have a totally committed two way relationship. When you love someone so deeply and then that relationship gets broken, you feel like a part of you is lost forever. So, in my opinion, Samuel Butler, who wrote “it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all,” didn’t give it 100%. Ture I don’t know you Jerry, but that’s my opinion, and yes I do judge others accordingly, but that’s my prerogative.
