The Daily Douz

I made up my own jingle this morning…

“Type D-O-U-Z…
and you’ll get to me!”

It is about time I defined the word Douz since it is part of my website address. In 2007 when I was looking into creating a blog website, I wanted to name it something unique and creative. But I also wanted it to be like a “daily” thing. So I looked up French words and found “douz” and understood at the time that it meant “dose.” (So it was Marci’s Daily Dose, really.) Well you can research Douz and you’ll find an oasis in Tunisia called Douz, travel websites, pictures of camels, etc.

In conclusion, maybe I ended up creating this word and making the definition to be “dose” for the English translation. Who knows? I do believe it is a French word though and you pronounce it like ‘Doose.’

I had the thought to update everyone about my Russian Dwarf Hamster named Pip. I had him out the other day, in his rolly ball, and he was running around my kitchen and living room – just having the time of his life. So here is a quick video of Pip.

The video was made with my Samsung Solstice cell phone so it’s not the best quality but until I can afford something better, this will have to do. But you get the idea that my hamsters are doing fine! They are furry, cute animals that keep my mood up whenever I am feeling down.
